She caught fire at Naples but it was extinguished before much damage was done. She was then beached to prevent sinking; holds stated to be full of water. She was later dry docked to drain out water. It was said that she would be sold, but this decision was postponed. The Committee of Lloyd’s Register decided to allow the vessel’s class to remain subject to the survey and repairs being completed before the vessel proceeded to sea. Her class was later expunged.
